Lachen Machen - Die hohe Kunst der Komik (Termin noch unbestätigt!)
In the organizer's words:
Why We Laugh, What We Laugh At.
Starting in the fall of 2026, one of the most exciting actors and comedians will take the stage once again, and he has a confession to make: Comedy isn’t a matter of chance. It’s a craft. And he’s a master of comedy. Arnd Schimkat, also known as Arthur Senkrecht, takes audiences of all ages behind the scenes of laughter, humor, and comedy. What's happening when we suddenly burst out laughing? What levers are secretly pulled—technically, psychologically, highly manipulatively—so that we can’t help but burst out laughing? But is that even possible? To laugh and at the same time understand why you’re laughing. Of course! Schimkat shows us how. And then he reveals the secrets. Because he’s not just a master of his craft—he’s an expert. An analyst. An accomplice.
Does that sound like less fun? Not at all. Once you understand how comedy works, you’ll never laugh the same way again—from now on, you’ll laugh more heartily and more often.
MAKING PEOPLE LAUGH. Amazing, intelligent, generous, never vulgar, and definitely funny.
Ages 9 and up.
-> This performance is still in the planning stages; we’ll know by the end of September whether it can take place.
ARNDT SCHIMKAT
Hilarious, uninhibited, captivating in his own way, and brimming with humor from the tips of his toes to the tops of his hair—that’s Arnd Schimkat, aka Arthur Senkrecht. He has perfected the fine art of comedy in and of itself. Trained in Paris at Jacques Lecoq’s legendary theater school and in New York at the Actors Studio, he didn’t just learn how to make people laugh. He dissected it, distilled it, and brought it to a level of mastery. Film, television, thousands of stage performances, award-winning screenplays, a novel. Eleven countries. And a press that has long since surrendered: “So funny that the audience is in tears of laughter” (Süddeutsche Zeitung), or: “Comics brought to life” (Münchner Abendzeitung).
He has already captivated an audience of millions and currently plays one of the leading roles in the Grimme Prize-nominated ZDF series “Schlechte Menschen.” He won the Perrier Comedy Award for his one-man stage show and the Grimme Prize for the WDR show “Zimmer frei!”—and today he teaches what others can only guess at: the dramaturgy of comedy, including at the University of Television and Film Munich.
This man really knows his stuff when it comes to making people laugh.
