As part of the exhibition 'Fast eine Tonne: Atemraum', DG Kunstraum invites you to an exhibition tour with curator Benita Meißner. There will be an opportunity to walk through the exhibition together and talk about the works on display.

The group exhibition reflects on breathing as the origin and limit of existence through artistic positions. Ten artistic positions deal with air, breath and physical perception in different ways.

For centuries, art has attempted to make the invisible and fleeting nature of air visible. While air has long appeared primarily as a motif - for example as wind, cloud, mist, vapor, smoke or breath - it is increasingly becoming the material of artistic work itself in modern times. Contemporary positions make this invisible process tangible in different ways and use breath to open up a space for thought between body and world, inside and outside, self and other.
