Workshop from the Fit for Politics series

Classism is the invisible form of discrimination and permeates and determines all areas of our lives: the workplace, educational institutions, sport, voluntary work, politics, culture. Everything. Classism describes discrimination based on social origin and position. But how does classism work? Are you affected by it yourself? And how can you take action against it?

In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to recognize classism and actively combat it. You will gain well-founded insights into key terms, facts and social mechanisms. Through reflection, group exercises and practical examples, you will examine your own social conditioning and develop concrete strategies for a discrimination-sensitive everyday life.

Our event objectives:

• Practical examples: Where do we encounter classism - and how do we recognize it?
• Reflection on our own social position and its effects
• Concrete approaches to questioning and breaking through classist structures
• Insights into classism research and intersectional contexts

Whether you are new to the topic or already have some prior knowledge - this workshop offers you valuable knowledge and practical impulses for a more conscious and fairer approach to classism.
