Julie Sassoon Quartet

In 2015, the British pianist and composer Julie Sassoon founded the "Julie Sassoon Quartet" with Lothar Ohlmeier (tenor saxophone/bass clarinet), Meinrad Kneer (bass) and Rudi Fischerlehner (drums). Their first album "Fourtune", recorded in the RBB Kulturradio studios in Berlin, was chosen as a CD recommendation by Bayerischer Rundfunk. Since then they have toured extensively, playing at jazz festivals and venues across Europe and the UK, with highlights including two sold-out performances at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. Their latest album "Voyages" was released in December 2021 and was recognized as one of the most outstanding contemporary jazz albums by the German Record Critics' Award.
