Inselfieber – WM Opening Party I Das größte Public Viewing im Ruhrgebiet

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, a big World Cup Opening Party will be held on the open-air grounds of the Rudolf Weber-ARENA. The major event, which heralds the first match of the German team, will take place as part of the "Inselfieber" and "Kattas Kinderfestival" events, which will also be held on the same grounds that weekend. Inselfieber is Germany's biggest Mallorca festival and Kattas Kinderfestival is Germany's biggest children's festival.

Public viewing, live performances and other attractions

Fans can watch the opening match between the German national team and Curaçao on a total of five LED screens. The stage program will be a special highlight of the evening: the Hermes House Band will provide a rousing live performance with hits such as "Country Roads" and "Football's Coming Home". DJ Christian Schall will provide the right atmosphere in between. Additional highlights such as beer gardens and fairground rides promise the perfect evening.

"I am delighted that we will be celebrating the first Germany game of this year's World Cup together with thousands of soccer fans. I still remember the soccer festivals at those games very well and believe that we will be able to experience a unique atmosphere again this year," says organizer Markus Krampe.
