Today at the Bahnhof, we’re kicking off a wild journey through the history of independent music—back to a time when it was still all about the music. Parties took place in clubs, not as massive, rowdy events in huge venues. Today, I’ll serve up that vibe and the sounds of back then with a timeless mix rooted in the ’60s and ’70s, spiced up with a dash of punk and post-punk, and refined with a few pinches of ’80s rock, pop, and wave, indie pop, and maybe a touch of grunge. The whole thing is then rounded out with ’90s Britpop and the indie revival of the 2000s. That’s right—a genre-spanning mix. Of course, it’s guaranteed to get you dancing and singing along.
