Dr. Cairo is a Munich-based band with Colombian, Italian, and Portuguese roots. They dive into the world of alternative prog rock and aren’t afraid to incorporate plenty of funky influences and develop unconventional arrangements.

NILO CROW & THE MISSING CREW

NILO CROW (pronounced “Nailo”) is a portmanteau of “scarecrow” and “nihilism.” Behind the pseudonym is Munich-based songwriter and guitarist Jonas Schlemme. In 2019, Crow released his debut album, “Lonesome in Denial,” online. Since then, Kathi Huster on bass and Thomas Schneider on guitar have joined his band, “The Missing Crew.” After a long delay caused by the pandemic, the follow-up album *Why Do You Hate Me With Your Love?* was finally released in 2023 with the full band lineup. Can Cirpan, an Istanbul native now living in exile, has also joined the band on drums.

Nilo Crow’s generally rather dark sound draws from a wide variety of sources, ranging from Nick Cave & Warren Ellis to Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and the late Johnny Cash, all the way to Nirvana, Two Gallants, Dax Riggs, and John Frusciante. His lyrics often deal with classic grunge themes: love doomed to failure, the feeling of being an outcast, and all the other dark sides of a society so fixated on consumption that it devours people like commodities.
