Max Baumann is fed up with love. After his wife kicks him out in order to shape his future with a couples' therapist, he is certain: he will remain single forever!

What gives him stability in life, however, is a good deal of order, cleanliness and clear rules. But then his brother Tom moves in with him - a fun-loving womanizer who is just as unfamiliar with fidelity as coasters or neatly hung towels. What follows is the perfect clash of two lifestyles - and chaos is inevitable!

While Tom scares off one woman after the other (and often fails because of their names) and Max desperately tries to defend his rules, Kerstin suddenly turns up: Max's colleague, landlady - and a lover of order at eye level.

And between household crises, embarrassing mix-ups and an extremely strange carnival night, Max's firmly held intentions suddenly begin to waver ...
