Since his childhood, Matteo (Radoslav Gavlas) has belonged to a powerful secret society and associates with powerful and almost untouchable personalities from various institutions. At the head of this influential society is the Master (Pawel Lawrynovicz), an extremely skillful manipulator. After his initiation ritual, Matteo is promoted and tasked with making contact with Father Vitus (Heino Ferch), who is extremely important to the secret society. However, Matteo then witnesses appalling machinations and begins to get to the bottom of the matter, also by talking to Anna (Anna Ctvrtnickova). Anna's father Juraj (Féodor Atkine) is - like Father Vitus - a member of a secret order within the church; the Master's society is her enemy. But is she really? Father Vitus' struggle between his quest for power and his moral values gives the Master the chance to infiltrate the church on various levels. It seems that Juraj is on his own in this struggle. While studying in Bologna, Matteo meets a university professor (Pavel Kriz) who explains to him the workings of cults and other societies, and Matteo begins to realize that he is part of a fanatical society. Surprisingly, it is Juraj who persuades Matteo to reveal his knowledge of the powerful society to investigative journalist Ivan (Arnaud Binard). This leads to a threatening chain of unpredictable events and even the influential players have no idea that the game is much more far-reaching than it initially seems.
