EKUN DAYO Theater Instrumental
In the organizer's words:
Two young men from different African nations were enslaved and brought to Brazil for forced labor. A story similar to that of more than 6 million people.
Their only hope is to flee to a quilombo—an autonomous settlement. The journey is dangerous, but they are accompanied by the orixá Exú, who introduces them to the world of capoeira.
The performance EKUN DAYO deals not only with past events but also with modern forms of slavery, structural racism, and cultural appropriation.
