In the organizer's words:
An exciting journey through the world of mobility awaits you at the Dresden Transport Museum - right in the heart of Dresden's old town. The four permanent exhibitions show how transportation and technology have developed over the centuries - on water, in the air, on the road and on rail.
Road transport tells the story of 200 years of mobility history and combines historical perspectives with questions about the future. Rail transport brings railroad history to life - with original driver's cabs to participate in and experience. Shipping takes you from the Elbe out into the world's oceans and reveals the long history of life and work on the water. Aviation brings 200 years of aviation history to life and invites visitors to try out and discover in the experimental room.
The permanent exhibitions are complemented by regularly changing special exhibitions that open up new perspectives on mobility, technology and society. Families with small children can playfully learn the rules of the road on bobby cars in the traffic garden. Older children and teenagers can discover an interactive experimental course on the physics of mobility in the dyna mix lab. The detailed model railroad also delights with fascinating miniature worlds.
