The Danish-Zanzibari-Omani singer Nana Rashid is one of the most exciting new voices in European jazz. In her music she explores the big questions of being human - with all its beauty, vulnerability and depth. Her voice moves between Nordic clarity and soulful intensity, creating an intimate atmosphere that is both timeless and deeply personal.

Rashid caused an international sensation in 2023 with her debut album Music for Betty, released on the April Records label. The album combines Nordic melancholy, blues and poetic storytelling to create a haunting musical expression. The renowned magazine Jazzwise praised the "smouldering intensity" of her music, while the Danish newspaper Politiken described her as "an absolutely outstanding singer who clearly stands out on the Danish jazz scene". In the same year, she was named Best New Jazz Artist of the Year at the Danish Music Awards.

Since then, Rashid's career has taken her to international stages: from a sold-out concert at the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club to festival appearances at Jazz in Marciac and the Taichung Jazz Festival. She has also appeared on Danish television and was invited as a musical guest at Frederik X's Cultural Ball in 2024 - a sign of her growing importance in the Nordic jazz scene.

Nana Rashid is currently working on her upcoming album New Ways to Pray, which will open up her sound even further: spiritual, atmospheric and cinematic. Her music connects continents, cultures and inner soundscapes - carried by a voice that touches and connects.
