Ausstellung "Starke Frauen. Starkes Handwerk"
In the organizer's words:
Whether with a hammer, a paintbrush, or a saw: the skilled trades are a diverse field of work. Just as diverse are the women who work in this field. For a long time, women were not allowed to pursue these professions, or they did so exclusively behind the scenes—for example, on the sorting conveyor belt at a coal mine. In cooperation with the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts, the Zollern Coal Mine is therefore showcasing 20 impressive photographs of women in skilled trades to raise their visibility. In addition to work processes, materials, and tools, the focus is above all on the women craftspeople themselves.
The exhibition emerged from the Dortmund Chamber of Crafts’ nationwide “Photo.Award” , in which photographers from all over Germany could submit images. From over 150 submissions, 20 photographs were selected to do justice to the diverse stories of women in the skilled trades.

Admission to the exhibition is included in the museum admission fee (adults: 8 euros, reduced rate: 4 euros)
