Alphaville were founded in 1983 by Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd and Frank Mertens in Münster. With hits such as "Big in Japan", "Sounds Like a Melody" and "Forever Young" from their debut album of the same name, Alphaville took the music world by storm and became the world's most successful pop act "Made in Germany" to date. These songs have long been among the great classics of pop.

After seven more studio albums and worldwide tours, the band returned to the German charts in 2010 with the album "Catching Rays On Giant" and the top ten single "I Die For You Today". With their triple symphony album "Eternally Yours", the band landed another top 5 chart success in 2022. To mark the band's 40th anniversary, the fan-curated compilation album "Forever! Best of 40 Years" was released. At the same time, "Forever Young" experienced a worldwide comeback: viral on TikTok, number 1 in the Billboard charts and in a new version together with David Guetta and Ava Max. With its inclusion in the Billions Club, it can boast of being one of the fewer than 50 songs from the 1980s to have passed the billion mark on Spotify. With almost 20 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Alphaville is currently one of the top 500 most-streamed artists worldwide.
