[DE] Vom Studioalbum zum Konzert. Was im Studio als internationale Produktion mit Musiker:innen aus unterschiedlichsten Kontexten entstanden ist, wird nun erstmals auf die Bühne gebracht – in einer eigens für diesen Abend zusammengestellten Formation.
Mit Fela Kuti in Dub hat Manuel da Coll alias Cpt. Yossarian eine persönliche Hommage an zwei musikalische Welten geschaffen: an den hypnotischen Sog des Afrobeat und an die Tiefe des jamaikanischen Dub. Ausgehend von vier Kompositionen des Afrobeat-Pioniers Fela Kuti
übersetzt das Album dessen repetitive Energie in die Sprache von Echo, Raum und Live-Mixing – irgendwo zwischen Kalakuta, Kingston und München.

[EN] From studio album to concert. What began in the studio as an international production featuring musicians from a wide variety of backgrounds is now being brought to the stage for the first time – in a line-up put together especially for this evening.
With *Fela Kuti in Dub*, Manuel da Coll, alias Cpt. Yossarian, has created a personal tribute to two musical worlds: the hypnotic pull of Afrobeat and the depth of Jamaican dub. Based on four compositions by the Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti,
the album translates his repetitive energy into the language of echo, space and live mixing – somewhere between Kalakuta, Kingston and Munich.

Dr.Getdown

[DE] Dr. Getdown's Dj-Sets sind verspielte, vielseitige Kreationen mit technischer Finesse. Die Selection ist musikalisch offen, international, auf Schallplatten gepresst und verbindet verschiedenste Musikstile wie Funk, Disco, Cumbia und Afrobeat. Mit seinem Kollektiv Feelgood Selection hat er seit 2012 zahlreiche Veranstaltungen organisiert mit Gästen wie Dj Koco (JP), WEFUNK Radio Djs (CA), Femdelic, Florian Keller uvm.

[EN]  Dr Getdown’s DJ sets are playful, versatile creations characterised by technical finesse. His selection is musically eclectic, international, played from vinyl, and blends a wide variety of musical styles such as funk, disco, cumbia and Afrobeat. With his collective, Feelgood Selection, he has organised numerous events since 2012, featuring guests such as DJ Koco (JP), WEFUNK Radio DJs (CA), Femdelic, Florian Keller and many more.
