Cocanha (France)

[DE] Imposante Stimmen verschmelzen zu einer hypnotischen Polyphonie, getragen von den Rhythmen, die Saitentambourin, Füße und Hände vorgeben. Mit Minimalismus, kreativen Eingriffen und der Ästhetik elektronisch verstärkter Musik beleben Cocanha uraltes Liedgut in okzitanischer Sprache.

[EN] Imposing voices merge into a hypnotic polyphony, guided by rhythms set by the string tambourine, feet, and hands. Through minimalism, creative interventions, and the aesthetics of electronically amplified music, Cocanha brings ancient songs in the Occitan language to life.

Derya Yıldırım und Grup Şimşek

For years, the band has been celebrated internationally for their sound, which they describe themselves as “outernational,” beyond all boundaries.

[DE] Die Sets des Berliner DJs, der unter anderem das İÇ İÇE Festival mitgestaltet, sind dafür bekannt, dass sie nahtlos zwischen basslastigen, experimentellen und transnationalen Club-Sounds wechseln und unerwartete Verbindungen zwischen Genres und Regionen herstellen.

[EN] The sets by this Berlin-based DJ – who, amongst other things, helps organise the İÇ İÇE Festival – are known for seamlessly shifting between bass-heavy, experimental and transnational club sounds, and for forging unexpected connections between genres and regions.
