Jazz against Apartheid is a two-day festival aiming to bring together artists, organizers, and communities to support the NGO Middle Eastern Children’s Alliance and to build awareness, strengthen resistance and solidarity.

In collaboration with the international collective ''Jazz Against Apartheid‘', the collective ''The Ways in Which People‘' - committed to collective care, political awareness, is hosting this Festival at Pfefferwerk Haus 13. Exploring how we can use the privilege of our art and build spaces that welcome all. The Ways in Which People connect, care and love, matters.

More than a cultural event, the festival is a space for organizing, exchange, and action within Berlin’s music and cultural scene. Alongside many amazing live music acts, the program features poets, speakers, and short films that confront injustice and amplify voices too often pushed to the margins. At its core is a shared question: ''how do we show up for each other — materially, politically, and collectively — right now?''

By bringing together musicians, artists, volunteers, and local communities, the festival insists on the power of collective action: turning solidarity into support, and support into sustained resistance.

„„Jazz against Apartheid“ ist ein zweitägiges Festival, das Künstler*innen, Organisator*innen und Gemeinschaften zusammenbringen soll, um die NGO „Middle Eastern Children’s Alliance“ zu unterstützen und Bewusstsein zu schaffen sowie Widerstand und Solidarität zu stärken.

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem internationalen Kollektiv „Jazz Against Apartheid“ veranstaltet das Kollektiv „The Ways in Which People“ – das sich für kollektive Fürsorge und politisches Bewusstsein einsetzt – dieses Festival im Pfefferwerk Haus 13. Wir wollen erkunden, wie wir das Privileg unserer Kunst nutzen und Räume schaffen können, die alle willkommen heißen. Wie Menschen sich verbinden, füreinander sorgen und lieben, ist wichtig.

Das Festival ist mehr als nur eine kulturelle Veranstaltung; es ist ein Raum für Organisation, Austausch und Aktion innerhalb der Berliner Musik- und Kulturszene. Neben vielen großartigen Live-Musik-Acts umfasst das Programm Dichter*innen, Redner*innen und Kurzfilme, die Ungerechtigkeit thematisieren und Stimmen verstärken, die allzu oft an den Rand gedrängt werden. Im Mittelpunkt steht eine gemeinsame Frage: „Wie stehen wir gerade jetzt füreinander ein – materiell, politisch und kollektiv?“

Indem es Musiker*innen, Künstler*innen, Freiwillige und lokale Communities zusammenbringt, betont das Festival die Kraft des kollektiven Handelns: Solidarität in Unterstützung zu verwandeln und Unterstützung in nachhaltigen Widerstand.
