Not far from Napoleon's former command post, Leipzig's most famous landmark stands in the middle of the battlefield of the Battle of the Nations in 1813. Built from concrete and granite porphyry and inaugurated in 1913, the monument is 91 meters high. The viewing platform offers a magnificent panoramic view of Leipzig and its surroundings. Built according to designs by Bruno Schmitz, the gigantic monument impresses with its crypt decorated with knights, the almost ten-metre-high colossal figures and the 68-metre-high equestrian dome.

Under the special acoustic conditions of the monumental domed hall, concerts become an unforgettable experience.

At the foot of the monument, the FORUM 1813 museum provides information about the Battle of the Nations.
