Bürgerhaus Zähringen
In the location's words:
The Zähringen Community Center is located in the northern part of the city of Freiburg and opened in 1992. It offers a wide range of uses for social, cultural, and political events.
On the ground floor, the community center features a hall, the foyer, and a kitchenette. The upper floor houses the gallery, restroom facilities, and two divisible group rooms, while the basement contains a rehearsal room for the local music clubs in the Zähringen neighborhood.
The hall area on the ground floor of the building covers 440 m². The use of two sliding walls allows the hall’s size to be adjusted to create a main hall of 220 m², an expanded version of 285 m², or two smaller rooms to the left and right of the partition wall, each measuring 90 m². Adjacent to the large, versatile hall is a stage 8 m deep and 12 m wide.
The foyer, located in front of the hall area, measures 70 m² and serves as an entrance area, but can also be used for other purposes (e.g., catering).
The gallery covers 90 m² and offers the possibility of expanding the venue’s capacity.
The two group rooms on the upper floor, one on the left and one on the right, each measure 60 m² and can be divided by a partition wall into four smaller areas, each measuring 30 m².
