WUT MUT Praxis: Rage kollektiv gestalten

PICK OF THE DAY

You cannot miss this event.

In the organizer's words:

Digital violence, anti-queer attacks, and the steadily rising number of femicides define our present. This reality can trigger feelings of anger, grief, fear, and powerlessness within us—feelings that are often barely acknowledged.

As part of the Rage&Empowerment event series, WUT MUT Praxis invites you to enter an artistic and physical space for exploration.

The workshop aims to be a space where these feelings can be collectively acknowledged, shared, artistically explored, and made visible. To this end, we’ll use various materials—such as clay, paint, voice, and movement—drawing on both materials and the body as resources. Together, we’ll experiment with different forms of expression to channel emotions like anger, try out techniques for self-empowerment, and experience a sense of connection—in ways that are combative, tender, and playful.

WUT MUT Praxis understands rage as the collective anger of people who suffer under patriarchy—as a unifying and existential force, and as a reaction to dominant systems and power structures. Rage as a starting point for self-empowerment.

The workshop is open to all queer, trans, intersex, non-binary, and agender people, as well as those who identify as women—with or without prior artistic or dance experience. A special invitation goes out to people experiencing multiple forms of discrimination and to anyone who longs for a communal space for rage.

The resulting artworks can be exhibited at BüZE afterward—as a lived practice of empowerment, this offers the chance to collectively claim space and become visible.

About the Seminar Facilitator
Mathi Guntiñas (no/neutral pronouns)

In their own artistic practice, Mathi combines performance art, acting, and
sculpture in their artistic practice, creating spaces for mindful experience. Since October 2025, Mathi has been studying
a master’s degree in dance education at the Center for Contemporary Dance in Cologne and is exploring the development of playful educational formats with curiosity.

Recurring themes in Mathi’s work include anger, sensuality, shame, choral singing, and psychosomatics in body-centered trauma work. Mathi works from a white and queer perspective.

In January 2025, Mathi Guntiñas collaborated for the first time with the Ehrenfeld Community Center and, with funding from the Ehrenfeld District Council, developed the piece *WUT MUT*.
With an ensemble of queer singers and dancers, an interactive choral performance emerged in which shared experiences, anger, and solidarity were explored, held, and lived out.

Building on these tried-and-true elements, *WUT MUT* is being revived as *WUT MUT Praxis*
revived and further developed
