Was ist Freiheit?
In the organizer's words:
Freedom is a precious commodity that no one wants to do without. But what exactly do we mean when we say, “I am free”?
Surely, we often think first of political freedom—that is, freedoms that can be granted or taken away from us. But is freedom merely something that others must give us? Isn’t it also up to us to win certain freedoms for ourselves?
The path to a self-determined life can be understood as a process of self-liberation. Through intellectual emancipation, we free ourselves, step by step, from ideological thought patterns or self-destructive behaviors. How do we deal with this responsibility for ourselves, our thoughts, and our actions?
This workshop invites participants to explore philosophical perspectives on the concept of freedom and offers an opportunity to critically reflect on their own ideas about freedom.
Facilitator: Anna Lambertz-Rohstock, MA.
