Art by Women at the Museum Ludwig, Part 1
Since 1985, the Guerrilla Girls have been drawing attention to the underrepresentation of women artists in museums by asking whether women must be nude to be included in a museum. In 2017, only 11% of the artists featured at the Museum Ludwig were women. This guided tour focuses on the women who have largely been forgotten—the pioneers. It has taken time for them to be rediscovered. The overview ranges from Natalya Goncharova to Paula Modersohn-Becker, Marie Franck, Lee Krasner, and many others.
