Event on two impulse lectures by Christina Kubisch on Electromagnetic Explorations 2003-2026 and Prof. Anna Schürmer (media theorist, FU Berlin) on Sonotopias. Followed by an artist talk moderated by Rebekka Seubert.
The term sonotopia connects the sounding (sonare) with the place (topos) - and thus describes sound places as well as forms of localization through listening and listening. In this sense, field recordings and audio walks can be understood as a method of exploring the auditory world: With the help of microphones, antennas and our ears, the soundscapes and soundscapes of the world can be measured and experienced - as an interplay of nature, culture and technology. At the same time, the concept of sonotopia resonates with a speculative moment: sounding utopias of a better world - and resonances of how it could be and sound. Following the concept of futuring, sound is understood as a medium that not only depicts world conditions, but also creates them through imagination: Musicking Future - or: making future music.
