Dear friends of the gallery, dear art enthusiasts,
What remains when we reduce the world to its essence? How do bodies, landscapes and matter change in the flow of time?
The MORPHOLOGIES exhibition brings together two Düsseldorf positions that at first glance appear to be at home in opposing disciplines: Esther Wenzlik 's painting and Sebastian Trägner's analog photography.
Sebastian Trägner. And yet both artists share the same obsession - the study of forms and structures. Morphology describes becoming and passing away, the analysis of patterns and the transformation of the natural.
The symbiosis of transience and structure
Wenzlik and Trägner find each other in reduction. Where Trägner's lines capture the transience of nature, Wenzlik responds with an abstract reconstruction of form and matter. Both works are not to be understood as concrete images, but as invitations to take a closer look - both outwards and inwards.
Morphologies is a space of transition. Between fragments of charcoal, light, paper and natural textures, a world opens up that is no longer merely documented, but above all becomes tangible.
We look forward to seeing you there.
