Vernissage // Blaue Stunde - Lena Dues
In the organizer's words:
Vernissage // Blue Hour - Lena Dues
Lena Dues' sculptures, spatial installations and graphic works are the expression of an ongoing search process and her sensitive approach to material behavior and aesthetics. Materials such as plaster, silicone, glass, epoxy resin, rocks, shells and chains are joined by crystals that Lena Dues grows herself.
In the "Blue Hour" exhibition, she presents current cyanotypes, a cameraless photographic process from the early days of photography. Light, chemical reactions and different materials create images of particular depth and a characteristic blue color 🔷
Chains, wire mesh and other industrial forms encounter organic structures, growth and crystal formation. Between photography, printing techniques and material experiments, works are created that tell of connection, change and the beauty of unexpected processes ✨
We see ourselves as a donation gallery.
Through the sale of the pictures, we donate a fixed percentage to a charitable organization in consultation with the exhibiting artist. In this case, the proceeds go to the Frauenennotruf Münster.
The Frauen-Notruf counselling centre is a specialized specialist and advice centre on the subject of sexualized violence against women and girls. Its work focuses on counseling and support services for affected women and girls and their supportive caregivers. They guarantee impartial and qualified help.
