Unforgotten – Fasia Jansen Black Art & Resistance Festival (Konzertabend + Aftershow Party)
In the organizer's words:
Unforgotten – Fasia Jansen Black Art & Resistance Festival is a three-day political and artistic festival that focuses on Black victims of Nazism and honors their lived realities, acts of resistance, and forms of cultural expression.
The second edition is inspired by the life of the Black Oberhausen singer and activist Fasia Jansen (1929–1997), a survivor of Nazi persecution and, for over five decades, one of the most important voices in the anti-fascist, feminist, and labor movements. Through visual art, lectures, and music, the festival creates a space for remembrance, solidarity, and empowerment that bridges the past and the present.
On September 19, 2026, the festival will reach its climax at 7 p.m. with performances by Myriel Mbowua, miss audacity, temi, and Juju Rogers, followed by an after-show party.
Fasia Jansen – Remembrance and Resistance (Festival) is a project by Kollektiv Afrik NRW , supported by Interkultur Ruhr, Regionalverband Ruhr, the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Soziokultur NRW, and the DGB. In cooperation with the ISD—“Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland” (Initiative for Black People in Germany), Bahnhof Langendreer, the Fritz Hüser Institute for Literature and Culture of the Working World, the Fasia Jansen Foundation, and the Queer*feminist Library and Archive LIESELLE.
