The title alone - a line from Schiller's The Diver - promises explosive results. Sebastian Kautz and Gero John explore Friedrich Schiller's eloquent ballads, enlivening them with drama, live music and puppetry, freeing them from romantic clichés and examining their relevance today.
Whether it's The Glove, Cassandra, The Cranes of Ibykus, The Ring of Polycrates or The Surety - at Bühne Cipolla it becomes more than just a recitation with music.
Melanie Kuhl with figures and drawings, Gero John on the instruments and Sebastian Kautz with the means of language want to infect you with their enthusiasm for Friedrich Schiller's great poetry.
