Ulrich Peltzer »Der verlorene Schlaf«
In the organizer's words:
The year is 1832. Évariste Galois, 20 years old and heartbroken, dies from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. On the night before the fatal duel, the young scholar quickly jots down a mathematical theory. It will make the revolutionary and opponent of the monarchy—who had just been released from prison—world-famous. Galois’s story has everything it takes to make a gripping period film. For now, however, this film exists only in the imagination and reflections of a screenwriter, about whom Ulrich Peltzer tells the story of how, during a sleepless night, he jumps back and forth between the French July Revolution and his own present.
