TRÖÖÖT! TATAAA! - KONFETTI, SEIDENSTRÜMPFE UND SUPPLEMENTS

The exhibition features works by three artists from the inclusive studio collective Kaethe:k: Andrea Wolf, Firat Tagal, and Luis Garcia Bohlscheid. Despite their different artistic approaches—in object art, painting, and textiles—they share a common interest in interpersonal relationships, habits, body images, and forms of coexistence.

Andrea Wolf works with organic materials and biomass. In her work, she explores so-called “missing links,” practices of collecting, and the ambivalence of the physical—oscillating between attraction and irritation. Using materials such as silk stockings, she develops organic-looking forms reminiscent of body fragments.

Firat Tagal aims to travel through all of Germany’s federal states and document his on-site observations through drawing. He places a special focus on train stations as social hubs. There, he is particularly interested in eating habits and the connections between nutrition, body image, and fitness cultures—especially in the context of bodybuilding and dietary supplements.

Luis Garcia Bohlscheid explores festivals and communal forms of celebration. He carefully prepares for birthdays and other occasions: he designs invitation cards, creates decorations, and engages with moments of joy, community, and social interaction through drawing and textiles.

These three approaches offer different perspectives on notions of the body and everyday life: from dietary supplements to silk stockings and biomass to confetti. The exhibition is part of the “Let’s Talk About the Art World” series. The third edition focuses on the visibility of artists with disabilities, as well as a discussion about inclusion in the art world and within studio communities between Kaethe:k and Q18.

On August 29 at 2:00 p.m., the event “Kein Kaffeekränzchen” will take place—a conversation about inclusion and artistic practice with Andrea Wolf over coffee and cake.
