Thirsty Mamas - 20 Years on the Road

Founded in Hamburg in 2006, Thirsty Mamas draw on blues-rock traditions in the vein of Gary Clark Jr. and Buddy Guy, with raw rock influences in the style of Clutch and dark undertones à la Tom Waits. The band is known for its unique interpretation of the Depeche Mode classic “Personal Jesus.” Their sound is defined by a distinctive voice, characteristic slide guitar, a striking harmonica, and an exceptionally tight interplay between bass and drums.

On stage, Thirsty Mamas create an intense and authentic atmosphere: Steff Schneider’s powerful voice carries the songs with conviction, while Hans Torlée lets the blues ring out raw on lap steel and guitar. The bass-and-drums duo of Wojtek Manteufel and Mariusz Brede provides a driving groove that carries the songs. Mike Jaedke’s harmonica adds distinctive touches. Through direct interaction with the audience, visible enthusiasm, and dynamic ensemble playing, the band engages the crowd. Every performance is marked by extraordinary enthusiasm and energy.
