The Lost Lyrics
Since 1990. Why have you been in a punk rock band for over three decades? What hasn’t been said about the end of physical media, the demise of clubs, the lack of new blood in subcultures, people’s growing disinterest in small, lesser-known bands, or the blessing of the internet that has turned into a curse? It’s all true, absolutely. But it works: Without major commercial success or high-profile media events, the Lost Lyrics will still be buzzing through the punk rock scene and the trash garage scene in 2026. Because, as always, there’s just so much to experience. We’re still performing live, both regionally and beyond, to bring our still-relevant LP “Freak Preview” to the stage—along with songs we’ve been playing live for many years.
It’s the fun you have making music, and also the people you meet along the way. I don’t want to go into all the important friendships and acquaintances that have developed over the years because of this. But we do run into them regularly somewhere in Germany. A child was even named after one of our songs. We’ve been able to play live with bands we liked and still like, and even record songs with them. There’s always someone at a show who knows certain lines of our lyrics better than I do. Apparently, there are always a few people who really connect with our music, and that’s who we play for. What more could you want?
And so we carry on. For over 20 years, Lost Lyrics 2026 has consisted of Kati on bass and vocals, Steffen on drums, and Holger on guitar and vocals. We no longer have that first tour bus—the one where we’d crammed a wooden park bench into the back—but sometimes you can still say, “Some things never change.” Clubs without a stage, where the bar is backstage, are still part of the lineup. Melodic punk rock with German lyrics from Northern Hesse.
Stefan Bk(The Swipes, Ferien auf der Ratiofarm) plays punky-indie acoustic songs solo!
