Susi Lotter Quintett UNHEARD

The Susi Lotter Quintet brings together five aspiring musicians and friends who met at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Through several years of playing and living together, a deep musical and personal connection has developed, which forms the foundation of this project.

With music that combines groove, melancholy and contemporary jazz in a personal way, the Susi Lotter Quintet creates an intense and at the same time memorable band sound. The focus is on strong original compositions - carried by a palpable joy of playing.

Bassist and composer Susi Lotter has already won the BMW Young Artist Jazz Award and the Bavarian Jazz Association's sponsorship prize several times.

Together with Pablo Struff (piano), Niklas Rehle (guitar), Katharina Pfeifer (saxophone) and Jakob Marsmann (drums), she forms a band that impresses with its fine interplay and tonal versatility.

Emotional, energetic and surprisingly accessible.

This makes the Susi Lotter Quintet one of the most exciting projects of a new generation of German jazz musicians.

The Unheard series already celebrated successes at the Unterfahrt in 2019 and 2021 and is now being continued this year with eight concerts in Einstein Kultur's Halle 4. Developed as a project with the JazzStiftung München and curated by Unterfahrt and mucjazz e.V., the program aims to provide a forum for promising young musicians from various competitions (including the Munich Jazz Prize) and give them the attention they have long deserved.
