Shades of Blue - Saxpack

In the organizer's words:

Sax Pack is the name of the saxophone band led by Michel Janssen, a trained jazz saxophonist, from the Engelbert Humperdinck Music School in Siegburg.

With soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, the ensemble has all common saxophone types at its disposal, which are tuned to different pitches. This allows an orchestrally diverse overall sound to be produced.

The different sound facets enable a varied repertoire from classical to pop to jazz to be played convincingly. The band plays almost exclusively its own arrangements and compositions. Most of them were written by Norbert Paar, a long-time member of the band. His works impress with their beautiful melodies, surprising rhythmic variety and harmonic ingenuity.
