„Sehnsucht“ heißt mein Lied: Alexandra - mit Tirzah Haase (Gesang, Text) und Armine Ghuloyan (Klavier)
In the organizer's words:
Sometimes, when you turn on the radio, that voice is there again: dark, husky, unmistakable, with her timeless hits “Zigeunerjunge,” “Sehnsucht,” and “Mein Freund, der Baum.” Those were the big hits with which Alexandra (born Doris Treitz in 1942 in Heydekrug, East Prussia) caused a sensation in the mid-1960s. The German pop singer quickly became an internationally celebrated star with close ties to French-speaking chansonniers such as Salvatore Adamo, Gilbert Bécaud, and Yves Montand, as well as the Brazilian musician and singer Antônio Carlos Jobim. Her untimely death in a car accident in 1969 led to revelations by her biographer Marc Boettcher, who claimed to have learned from Stasi files that Pierre Lafaire, Alexandra’s lover, was working as a U.S. secret agent.
The jet set, glamour, the Cold War, and intelligence agencies—these are the elements that fuel the legend surrounding Alexandra. So Tirzah Haase has a lot to share as she—together with pianist Armine Ghuloyan—traces the footsteps of the great singer through songs and texts.
Tirzah Haase is an actress and singer who lives in Dortmund. In the past, permanent engagements have taken her to Hamburg (Thalia Theater), Trier, and Bremen, among other places. She has worked as a voice-over artist for WDR since 1987; in addition, she has appeared in several television roles, received multiple musical theater engagements, and made a name for herself as a jazz singer.
Armine Ghuloyan, a pianist and concertmaster, is originally from Armenia and has lived in Dortmund since 1997. After numerous engagements at various concert halls in the former Soviet Union and various composition commissions, she now performs internationally as a soloist and song accompanist.
