Schrottgrenze
In the organizer's words:
Once upon a time, there was a punk band…
Synthesizers, orchestral arrangements, and classical choirs—the musical journey behind the former punk band Schrottgrenze is astonishing. “We never let ourselves become dependent on anything and have always just followed our own tastes,” they explain. To mark the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking album “Château Schrottgrenze,” the band will perform the entire album at the Elbphilharmonie—supplemented by rare B-sides and songs from the early 2000s. “Château Schrottgrenze” marked a turning point for the band at the time: a shift from the punk underground toward new complexity and clarity. As a guitar-pop band, they played subtly melancholic songs, sparsely arranged, with introspective lyrics that were more abstract and mature than anything the band had released before.
