Schnickschnack Poetry Slam
In the organizer's words:
Schnickschnack Poetry Slam | August 6, 2026 - 7:30 p.m. | TMD Düsseldorf
Summer vacation? Sure. Summer break?! Not for us!
On the first Thursday in August, we’re back at our beloved Pink Palace. This time, we’re hosting another Newcomer Edition—which is going to be at least as much fun as two weeks of all-inclusive vacation in Fuerteventura.
Jeanette Kasper-Feld and Kamila Dobner will host the evening and bring these promising up-and-coming poets to the stage: Jaqueline Jänicke, Hanna, Claudia Ingenillen, and Sena!
So what kind of show is this, anyway? A poetry slam is a modern poetry competition that, despite its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, follows very simple rules: self-written texts are performed on stage without props or music, and the audience decides who wins the night.
What the artists bring to the stage is entirely up to them. So it can be side-splittingly funny or enchantingly tender, political or humorous or serious… or even all of the above. Whether it’s poetry, prose, or something in between, anything goes at a poetry slam.
[The Schnickschnack Slam is organized by the Musenkollektiv—a collective of regional artists with a queer-feminist background—and the Friends of the Düsseldorf Theater Museum, with the kind support of the Düsseldorf Theater Museum.]
