Witten's town hall square is getting culinary!
On Saturday, May 30, 2026, "Schmaus & Braus - The Long Market Day" will launch a new monthly event series that will turn the weekly market in the city center into a meeting place for everyone.

Important: The regular weekly market runs as usual from 8 a.m. with the familiar regular traders - and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Schmaus & Braus adds a good portion of program on top.

🍽️ Eat, drink & enjoy
Also at the kick-off: Genuss Galerie Hafer for cool drinks, Best Buddies with crispy tarte flambée, Büffel Imbiss and Pott Bakery - which even invites you to a free natural sourdough bread tasting and has coffee and fine pastries from Pott in its luggage.

There's also a cozy area for feasting, relaxing and chatting - with live music as a relaxed backdrop.

🥇 Who peels the fastest? The asparagus peeling competition!
In keeping with the season, there is a tangible competition: the fastest person to peel 10 spears will receive a certificate and a gourmet basket filled with regional delicacies and vouchers from Witten city center - 1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded.

👨‍👩‍👧 The little ones are also catered for
A go-card and bobby car course, a children's carousel and a stilt walker will make children's eyes light up - the town hall square becomes a family Saturday.
