Sax Royal - Die Dresdner Lesebühne

On Wednesday, September 9, Sax Royal will not only be returning from its summer break—it will also be a special evening, as the Dresden reading series bids farewell to the GrooveStation, which has been its temporary home for five years. Before the literary collective led by Michael Bittner, Roman Israel, Max Rademann, and Gesine Schäfer returns to the newly renovated barn in October, they’ll be throwing a proper farewell party —with funny stories about the adventures of everyday life, finely rhymed reflections on the nature of love and love in nature, as well as energetic tirades against dullness and misanthropy. Since Roman Israel cannot be there that evening, the Lesebühne is inviting two guests: Clint Lukas and Niklas Sauerbrey.

Clint Lukas, born in 1985, has lived in Berlin since 2005. In addition to writing columns for the Berliner Zeitung and the Tagesspiegel, he has published several novels and short story collections, including *The Heavy End of Gustav Mahler’s Coffin* (2013), “Nie wieder Frieden” (2016), and “Asche ist furchtlos” (2020).

Niklas Sauerbrey (born in 1999) has been writing poetry and prose since his youth. Following his success in several writing competitions (Bayerischer Rundfunk, Frankfurt Book Fair), he published the short story collection *Leiwand* while he was a student. He now works as a physician and is simultaneously seeking a publisher for his novel *Eine Jugendtragödie*.
