Rhythms of freedom

Ludwig van Beethoven's Seventh Symphony was celebrated as an "orgy of rhythm", Wagner even spoke of an "apotheosis of dance". It is no wonder that the famous German choreographer Sasha Waltz found the ideal partner for her physical language in this work, which combines movement, structure and energy. Il Pomo d'Oro, the renowned baroque orchestra, performs the symphony on period instruments - gut strings, natural horns, original strings - and brings the music to the stage in all its clarity and power. The ensemble is conducted by Titus Engel, a specialist in historical performance practice. Unadulterated and direct: pure Beethoven. At the same time, Waltz's company makes these sounds visible - step by step.
