Saraswati String Quartett

In the organizer's words:

The Saraswati String Quartet is currently regarded as one of the most interesting chamber music ensembles in Europe. With a fascinating mixture of exotic and well-known sounds, the ensemble knows how to give even tightly constructed sound structures an easily comprehensible form.

Initiated by sitar player Klaus Falschlunger and Clemens Rofner on double bass - who also contribute their own compositions - the quartet, together with Lydia Kurz on violin and viola and Irina Zehm on cello, roams through musical hemispheres between "Orient and Occident" and thus impressively demonstrates how the East and the West can be traveled simultaneously. Floating sounds, sometimes interwoven, sometimes unraveled, create a fairy-tale atmosphere and a magic that no one can escape.
