Rising Spaces - The First Exhibition

Berlin has many exhibitions. Berlin has many clubs.
Rising Spaces begins where this distinction becomes blurred.

Right in the heart of Friedrichshain, the cassiopeia Club is the first of its kind to transform into a multisensory experience space: three floors, three worlds, one month to fully immerse yourself. Not just a backdrop, but states that shift as soon as you move through them.

During the week, the club becomes an immersive exhibition featuring large-scale installations, light, sound, and interactive elements. Each space tells its own story, creating its own reality.

On the weekend, art interacts with the night, and the dance floor takes over. The installations remain, evolve, and become part of something new.

Two states. One place.

Rising Spaces works with what’s already there. No neutral spaces and no exhibition halls. Instead, club architecture, history, traces. Unlike traditional formats, the experience here emerges through alternation: between stillness and movement, between observation and participation.

You don’t just come to see something.

You move through art that can’t quite be pinned down.

The first edition takes place at cassiopeia. A place that doesn’t reinvent itself, but comes to be interpreted differently.

The project collaborates with clubs across the city and temporarily repurposes them. Places that usually operate to the rhythm of nightlife open during the day for immersive art experiences. What emerges are walk-through environments made of light, sound, and spatial structure. Not a traditional exhibition, but shifting states that unfold through experience.

Rooted in the club scene itself, Rising Spaces extends these venues beyond the night, allowing club culture to be experienced in a new way during daytime hours—for a broader audience and with a different perspective on familiar spaces.
