Greta, the woman behind the stage nameRatte Rosa, grew up in a village near Karlsruhe and found her creative voice while studying Intermedia Design in Trier. Ratte Rosa weavesa world of contrasts—from delicate piano melodies and thumping basslines to sorrowful lyrics and furious instrumentals, rats and lace.

Through her autobiographical lyrics and cinematic sounds, the artist recounts her life as a woman in a patriarchal society—without contrived phrases, without flowery descriptions, and without sugarcoating the reality of her life. Tangled up in her own identity with the questions “Who am I, really?” and “How much of this is socially constructed?”, she cuts to the heart of the matter with precision and rage, dissecting her own self piece by piece, writing about slut-shaming, the male gaze, strong friendships, abuse of power, and her own invisibility in a world that wasn’t created for her and her sisters.
