Serbian twin vocals

It only takes two men to produce some of the most amazing vocal music in Europe: the twins Ratko and Radiša Teofilović from Čačak have rescued the centuries-old tradition of Serbian twin singing from oblivion. The brass players from Emir Kusturica's films and the "Balkan Beatz" DJ movement have brought upbeat, wild party music with virtuoso instruments to Central Europe. At the same time, however, they have overshadowed the rich tradition of heartfelt and intimate vocal traditions in the south-east of the continent. They are nourished by Orthodox church music as well as mythology and epic poetry. The outstanding masters of Serbian polyphony are the twin brothers Ratko and Radiša Teofilović.
