Panel Discussion: Bremen as a Water-Sensitive City – Challenges, Solutions, and Global Perspectives

The Wümme, the Weser, and Lake Werder: Water shapes Bremen’s cityscape. Water is the foundation of life, but it also presents new challenges that play a central role in urban planning in the era of the climate crisis. In a panel discussion featuring representatives from politics, academia, civil society, and the water sector, we will discuss Bremen’s status as a water-sensitive city.

The event is organized by the Wasserforum as part of Water Weeks. These will take place from August 22 to September 13, 2026, under the motto “Understanding Water, Shaping the Future,” and are being held for the second time this year.

In which neighborhoods is the implementation of climate adaptation measures particularly urgent? How can Bremen rethink its approach to managing rainwater as a resource?

The Bremen Water Forum cordially invites you to join us in a dialogue to find solutions for a livable and climate-resilient Bremen.
