Conservatism describes an attitude that is highly controversial. It is often labeled as narrow-minded, outdated, and small-minded. When people think of conservatism, they usually picture old, white men who want to explain the world to us because they believe they know the old ways and want to preserve them.
But does this fully describe the conservative mindset, or does it imply something more? Indeed, is conservatism perhaps even a prerequisite for progressivism and the avant-garde?
This evening, we’ll examine the controversial stance of conservatism and discuss its dangers and opportunities.
