PERMANENTLY SHADOWED

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

harsh noise | wall noise | power electronics

The steel hull of an industrial monument has once again become the gathering place for those who stray from the beaten path to celebrate unorthodox frequencies. Dive into the shadows and witness the performances of JHK (US), SCATHING (US), KIRAN ARORA (US), FAR TOO FRAIL (Hamburg), and SOUNDS OF FADING (HH). Once again curated by Cooperfrau Melissengeist and Doubtless Guilt, and hosted by the MS Stubnitz. Steel. Frequencies. Shadows.

The concert is supported by the Hamburg Association for Contemporary Music.

JHK

JHK is the NYC-based solo experimental electronics project of Jackson H. Kovalchik. Active since 2011, he began using the moniker in 2018. JHK’s work incorporates detailed and textural elements of cassette manipulation, drawing on a palette of both organic and manufactured sounds. Much of the work builds compositions around recurring threads of synthesized undertones, culminating in entropic pedal abuse. JHK has toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe and has released material through Oxen Records, Thousands Of Dead Gods, AAD, and others, as well as appearing at festivals such as Ende Tymes, Summer Scum, Bortom Brus, and the International Noise Conference.

SCATHING

Scathing is the noise project of Kenny Brieger from Austin, Texas. Active since 2016, Scathing uses an array of sounds—ranging from metal and homemade instruments to field recordings and vocal anxieties—filtered through pedals, synths, and other electronics to create a maniacal, fast-paced onslaught. He has performed throughout North America and has a discography featuring releases on labels such as Oxen, Dada Drumming, New Forces, No Rent, and others.

KIRAN ARORA

Kiran Arora is an intermedia artist based in New York City. He performs live electronic music using a variety of hardware and software. He has performed across North America, Europe, and Asia, and has released solo and collaborative recordings on a number of labels, including Adhuman, Prose Nagge, and Skeleton Dust.

FAR TOO FRAIL

F.T.F. (Far Too Frail) is the new collaborative experimental industrial/electronic project by Anna Nin and Laura Müller from Hamburg. Blending dark synth textures, analog drum machines, and Laura’s haunting vocals, they create an intense, atmospheric live sound that oscillates between tenderness and escalation.

SOUNDS OF FADING

sounds of fading is a blackened dark ambient project from Hamburg (GER). Consisting of K., who is also part of the drone duo Tremor Hex, the project merges synthesized waveforms with noise, harsh vocals, and sound effects. The result is a deeply immersive listening experience, somewhere between subterranean ambience and the spectral remnants of black metal, unfolding into fragments of a dying world and dissolving into silence.
