Parzhuber Trio feat. Olga Reznichenko

The name fits: PARZ is the radical reduction of the surname Parzhuber to its core. It is the name for the trio of Cologne-based drummer Alexander Parzhuber, who has come together with Fabian Dudek (alto saxophone, Ableton, wind controller) and Oliver Lutz (electric bass) to create a sound that brings jazz fusion à la Yellowjackets into the here and now of contemporary music that kicks as directly as that of Knower or is as atmospherically dense as that of Bon Iver. To achieve such a convincing result, you also have to act as a unit. This is exactly what PARZ does: everything superfluous is put aside, the three concentrate on the essentials and focus on the physical presence of their respective instruments. Together, Parzhuber, Dudek and Lutz act as a highly energetic unit that has freed itself from rigid jazz conventions and emphasizes playfulness.
