OUT OF SCHOOL – BREMER SCHULBAND-ABEND

When school bands take over the stage, it gets loud, lively and quite varied: at "Out of School", young musicians from Bremen show how much energy, creativity and musical ability their bands have.

The "Nicht ganz Standard" band group from Oberschule am Leibnizplatz will be taking part. The young jazz band combines well-known standards with fresh interpretations and moves musically between Jazzmeia Horn, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. Sometimes subtle and restrained, sometimes with plenty of groove and enthusiasm, they create songs full of improvisation, musical exchange and surprising moments. No wonder: the band will be representing Bremen at the national Jugend jazzt competition in Halle in 2026.

Also on stage: the band class from the Altes Gymnasium with "There's A Happy Noise". Here, rock classics and current songs meet great band energy. The repertoire of the young musicians, who have been playing, rehearsing and performing together for three years, ranges from CCR, Elton John and Tom Petty to Billie Eilish and Adele. The line-ups change, instruments move on - and it is precisely this that creates a concert evening full of dynamism and shared energy.
