OSTERBROOKLYN FESTIVAL · Tag 1
In the organizer's words:
Not every journey requires roads. Some simply follow the music.
The Bille flows calmly past the fire station. On stage, the exact opposite is happening. Every performance takes the evening in a new direction.
“Skampi” kicks things off as if someone had thrown the first stone into the water. The guitars set waves in motion, the drums pick up speed, and suddenly heads are bobbing to the beat everywhere. A little later, the “Bille Rebels” take over. With authentic rock ’n’ roll and well-known classics, they amp up the energy, bring just the right momentum to the square, and really get the evening going.
Then things get more experimental. “Knarf Rellöm Arkestra and Nixe” combine electronic beats, guitars, and unusual ideas into a sound that’s constantly breaking new ground. Nothing feels predictable, and that’s exactly why you stay on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next.
To wrap things up, “Atik Yomin” takes the stage. Electronic sounds slowly drift across the square, blending with the rustling of the trees and the soft murmur of the Bille River. The music becomes part of the surroundings, and the festival’s opening night ends just as relaxed as a good summer evening should.
