Online Fachveranstaltung Jüdisches Leben in Sachsen sichtbar machen: Perspektiven für Schule, Jugendarbeit und politische Bildung
In the organizer's words:
Online specialist event
Making Jewish life in Saxony visible
Perspectives for schools, youth work and political education
June 18, 2026 | 17:00 - 18:30 | online via Zoom
How can educational work contribute to effectively countering anti-Semitic narratives? What role do Jewish history, the present and local references in Saxony play for schools, youth work and political education?
As part of our 30-month project "Making Jewish Life in Saxony Visible - Workshops against Anti-Semitism", we cordially invite you to an online specialist event. The focus will be on the results of our project work and the presentation of a newly developed handout for educational work.
Together with experts from schools, youth work, political education and civil society, we would like to share key findings, discuss practical experiences from the workshops and talk about how the approaches developed can be used in different educational contexts.
There will be a special focus on exchange: in small thematic groups, central questions from practice will be explored in depth - from Jewish identity and anti-Semitic narratives to concrete approaches to preventing anti-Semitism. The results will then be brought together and placed in the wider context of recommendations for action.
Finally, we will also present short examples of practical projects and offer space for networking and exchange between the participants.
Program
17:00 | Welcome & introduction "Jewish life in Saxony"
17:15 | Insights into the educational workshops: Best Practices
17:30 | Exchange of expertise & breakout sessions
18:00 | Policy recommendations & pitches from the field
18:25 | Conclusion & outlook
The event is aimed at teachers of all school types, school social workers, youth work professionals, multipliers of political education as well as representatives of educational institutions and civil society initiatives. Interested parties from administration, academia and the general public in Saxony are also very welcome.
